Apple-Maple Turkey Sausage

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon sage

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic

  • 1/4 teaspoon all spice

  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1-2 dashes cayenne pepper

  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup peeled, minced apple

  • 1lb ground turkey

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat cast iron pan over medium heat with olive oil.

  2. Combine all spices, apple and turkey together in a bowl. Mix well.

  3. For turkey mixture into balls (not patties, they will fall apart) and place a portion of the batch in the cast iron pan. The pan should be hot enough that they sear but don't burn. Cook on one side 3-4 minutes until they start to firm up on the underside. Using a spatula, flip each one and press down to flatten into a patty.

  4. Cook another 3-4 minutes until cooked through.

  5. Serve with your favorite sides. ENJOY!
