About
Welcome!
Hi! My name is Alyse Aguirre, I'm from Minnesota, I love Spartans, anything outdoors and have been horseback riding and snowboarding since my early teens.
My career started in 2006, graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University massage therapy program, my hope was to begin with equine massage therapy. That goal went on pause for almost 15 years as I embarked on the journey of treating humans. During that time, I started strength training and thought, "If my clients would move more, they wouldn't need so much massage". I wanted to help them with movement but truthfully, I didn't really understand the dynamics of tissue in motion. This led me into becoming a certified personal trainer.
Once I started personal training, another set of issues stared me in the face; when a client's movement pattern wasn't "textbook", I couldn't tell what exactly the problem was. So in 2020 I started my Human Movement Certification through the Brookbush Institute and learned so much! This accelerated me into understanding common patterns of dysfunction, which helped me train so many client's mobility and pain issues more effectively.

In 2021, I was hit hard with Covid and recovery felt was not there for me. I stopped my own training and was so fatigued, I could barely breathe, was having dizzy spells, a lot of myofascial pain, and my heart rate would increase rapidly. I was in a slump and couldn't continue with my usual heavy training load, which was very difficult mentally. In 2022 I was diagnosed with Long Covid. My training had to change so I decided to lean into mobility training. I became an FRC Certified Mobility Specialist and started integrating the work into my training clients with a lot of success, treating pain, old injuries and mobility issues from a nervous system standpoint.

Meanwhile, my husband encouraged me to start my equine massage practice, Revival Equine. During this time, my horse Rhett was difficult to treat and having some unexplained movement issues. I had the chiropractor out to see if that would help him with his chronic inflammation. During his treatment he was tense and twitchy, which is not normal. This made me think about his nervous system and if we could better connect his mind-body and calm the nervous system, this could help, so because of him, I decided to take the Upledger Institute Craniosacral 1 & 2 classes, which were life changing for my horse and human clients! I also went to California to study with Tom and Yolonda Mayes of Integrated Equine Therapies and took their
Equine Craniosacral and Advanced Osteo 1 course. All of this opened another can of worms for me into the world of Osteopathic Manual Therapy.
At Upledger, I met my friend Rachel, who invited me to study with Dr. Raymond Perrin to learn the Perrin Technique, which treats Long Covid, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. The class was mind blowing and from there I have seen amazing results biomechanichally treating the glymphatic system (the lymphatic system in the brain), helping very chronic, sensitive clients recover. Not only that I have treated myself with the Perrin Technique and the Long Covid symptoms I was dealing with are almost gone!

The Perrin Technique connected me with an amazing group of fellow manual therapists in the Salt Lake area with a similar passion to keep learning and to treat our clients with the most efficient and effective care possible.

I love learning and my client's complaints, successes and aspirations inspire me to keep going to give them the best movement and health possible!

My latest training was the Barral Institute Visceral Manipulation 1, which has been next level for mobility, pain, anxiety, digestive issues and more. I was inspired my Dr. Barral who said, "It's not intuition, everyone can know this". This inspired me think about how to implement some oseopathic techniques into personal training.
Since then, my method of Functional Integrative Movement Therapy has begun as a support for my manual therapy work. The system teaches people of all ages how their body works, what is the core, how to activate it and how to reorganize and use the body properly from the inside-out while tapping into the nervous system so that the fundamental movement patterns are instinctively resorted. The results have been a great foundation for my clients goals, lifestyle and health and has been a great foundation during personal training sessions as a foundation to build on.

Whether you decide to receive body work, or functional fitness or both, at Revival Movement UT, you will leave learning something about yourself and in better shape than when you left, guaranteed!
