The trampoline is going down (meeting you with a lighter force than you are producing) as you try to jump up, killing your momentum. Then imagine your fabulous best friend joins you and double jumps you to the moon! What happened? As you jumped up, you were met with a stronger force upward, sending you flying effortlessly.

Level 1- Core (Re-) Connect and Organization
Let's start at the beginning.... can you breathe....?
Level 1 of IMT begins with the basics of our core. WHAT is it (actually), WHY is it important (immune system function, decompresses spine, etc) and HOW to we access it. This starts with your first Pillar, Release. We will learn neurological reasons for the WHERE/WHY/HOW of foam rolling, followed by accessing the deep core musculature through breath work.

Next, we will travel to the foot, you know the things we stand on all day, that get tired and sore and we cram into narrow toed, elevated shoes. Those amazing sensory organisms that send messages to our brain to tell of the terrain underneath of us so that we can respond the most efficient and safe way possible. What happens when our feet stop reporting back to our brain? Lack of proprioception. Pain. Predisposition to injury. DISCONNECT TO THE CORE.

Once we can locate the intrinsic connection from our foot to core (all the way to the roof of the mouth, don't forget the glutes, we stop there too!), we discuss the object of "TIME" in relation to the brain. In Level 1 IMT, we will be focused on "sequencing" or timing our core activation with our movement patterns.

As we continue, we broaden our connections with fascial lines as our guide to visualize and identify connections from shoulder to core, building blocks of movement identifying the relationship between the spine, ribs and shoulder blades and most importantly, how to isolate and control each part so that we can integrate and mix and match areas of the body together for optimum biotensegrity.

Lastly, we integrate our direction of force, combined with timing of core (double jump away!) to create sheerless strength training, "sliding and gliding" or lengthening fascia, muscles, joints to create harmonious, perfectly organized new movment patterns, engrained into the brain. Not only that, but these new neuromuscular connections are changing the tissue at the cellular level (anti-aging, immune building and creating fibers that are actually more organized) therefore, we start to just move this way instead of the need to "babysit" each movement pattern and juggle all of the moving parts (not to mention in these cases we are unaware of the areas that are fighting us because we can't feel them).

By the end of Level 1 IMT, we will have an understanding of our 5 Pillars of Human Movement, how to integrate them in the vertical and horizontal planes of motion and will be prepared for Level 2 IMT- MOBILITY!
